While for some obtaining abstinence is the bigger challenge, for others it is maintaining abstinence. If you are an individual battling addiction, you are aware that identifying triggers is the first step in developing a long-term healthy lifestyle.
Our continued care services for those afflicted by addiction, and their family members, will help identify the people, places and things that may lead to a relapse. Recognizing that attending self-help groups is also key during recovery, there are times when more private, individual, sessions can help our clients to reconcile with themselves their need, or desire, to participate in addiction-based activities.
All information gathered is protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), and cannot be shared with anyone without prior written consent except when (a) a client reports desire to hurt him/herself, (b) the client reports the desire to hurt someone else, or, (c) the client reports that s/he has been threatened by another individual.
